Dreams are a subject that has stumped and intrigued most people, if not all, at some point in their life. Now a days, there is specific field of science that studies dreams and how those dreams tie into our lives and brain activity. Personally, dreams have captivated me and my perspective on them has changed greatly throughout the years. Like many children, dreams were seen as adventures are great stories, but were forgotten quickly. Now a days, I don’t have many dreams, but from what I know, dreams are manifestations of thoughts we’ve had in the past. Also, I know that people seen in dreams are people we have already seen in real life. I have had realistic dreams, but I’ve never thought of a dream coming true, unless we’re talking about the ones with meeting the perfect guy and getting married, because that’s totally happening (note the sarcasm).

Dreams, aspirations, and subconscious thoughts are brought out in dreams and may even inspire or change a person. Dreams can be of many different scenarios or events that a person truly believes they are undergoing, but once they wake up, they know it was a dream. In other words, the situations people undergo in dreams can lead the person to make hard decision, some soul searching, or relief from the real world, giving them a better understanding of what they would do in that certain situation or many others. Also, some people believe to be given “visions” or possible futures through dreams, which can influence a person’s decisions and path in life. Similar to the play Romeo and Juliet, people are able to see a story or situation, like a dream, and learn from the decisions being made and vent their emotions through that story. Like many people, nightmares occur occasionally and are a type of dream that plagues the mind. I once had a nightmare that scared the bejesus out of me, but as soon as I woke up, I realize it was a dream. This revelation immediately filled me with relief, knowing the real world could be worse, which is a realization many people come to at some point in their life. Overall, dreams provide many things that can contribute to the choices and perspective of a person and the world around them.
