Chapter 1
My first impression of Holden is that he is misunderstood. Holden obviously has social issues and seems to have walls he puts up around himself to keep from caring too much. So far, Holden is pretty much a mystery and maybe later in the book I'll be able to figure out why he acts like that.
Why does Holden act the way he does?
What was Holden's childhood like?
Does Holden change later in the book?
