Book: The Weight of Feathers

Author: Anna-Marie McLemore

Genre: Fantasy, romance, fiction

Rating (Out of 10): 8.5

Plot: This book is about two rivaling families in the circus, the Palomas and the Corbeaus. The Palomas are a latin american family that do a mermaid act and the Corbeaus are a french family that tightrope walk in some of the tallest trees. They both come to the same town to perform, and two members of the the families cross paths. Lace Paloma and Cluck Corbeaus have a fateful encounter that takes Lace into the world of a Corbeaus. Follow Lace and Cluck on their journey of star crossed lovers from feuding families and how one wrong move could turn everyone they know against them.

Pro: The Weight of Feathers is a beautifully written book that is easy to read, but elegantly so.

Con: There’s a lot of slow build up throughout the majority of the book. The climax comes very quickly at the end, and because of that it was a little confusing to understand.

Overall, I would recommend this book if you like sweet romance with a fantasy twist. Also, this book is a quick read and very well written so if you’re just looking for something along those lines you should definitely give this one a try.
